History

Müller was founded in 1990 by Brigitte and Peter Müller as Hydraulik-Service and operated very successfully in the local region. In the years 2001-2003, the company founders, even then with the active support of their son Jürgen Müller, began parallel research and development of high-pressure cooling lubricant for machining.

In the years that followed, these high-pressure systems were built in small series. Finally, in 2006, a new path, a new era based on this development, began for the Müller company. The potential of these systems was recognised. A brand was created and a product range was developed to meet customer requirements. High pressure became an issue and was established as an efficiency booster in the machining industry. As early as 2008, the company relocated in order to be able to adapt capacity to demand. In the following years, new markets were consistently won and further innovative products were developed, such as the first integrated high-pressure chip conveyor solution combistream. As early as 2012, when machine tools were becoming increasingly stylish, Müller was recognised as a pioneering design pioneer when the first fully enclosed high-pressure system was presented to the market. This pioneering decision has shaped the company's development just as much as the consistent further development of the efficiency approach, which ended in the conceptual development of the eco+ dynamic power concept. As early as 2005, but at the latest with the realisation of the eco+ concept, the Müller brand stood for resource-saving products. In order to continue to support this development in the long term, new filter concepts free of consumables were developed for combistream products, which have been installed in over 1,000 machine concepts built and sold since 2014. Since 2016, our innermost conviction has also been clearly visible to the outside world in the revised company logo: Müller - efficiency matters. In the same year, the combiloop CL4 range with three different basic sizes was introduced to the market in our typical modular style. Once again, Müller led the way in terms of future development. After 2008, another move was on the cards. In 2017, the company moved into the newly constructed building at InKom in Zimmern o. R. The foundation stone for the further development of the company was now laid on an area of over 5,000 m².

The founding of Müller China, in the form of M-Tech Machinery (Suzhou) and the acquisition of LMB Ludwig GmbH from Mittelbiberach, were the last strategically important decisions to make the transition from a manufacturing company to an industrial operation. Disrupted by the pandemic from 2020 to 2022, integration was slow, as was communication with a distant subsidiary in China. With the purchase of LMB Ludwig, the company not only acquired the expertise and ability to manufacture its own sheet metal components, but also entered the world of commercial vehicles for fire protection via a product range that already existed there. Specifically: the world of original equipment for firefighting vehicles. In 2021, we then completed a very important transformation in product design. Through a design lead project, we developed the new Müller look, which was presented to the market for the first time in the form of the brand-new combiloop CL3G. Derived from this design study, highly functional, beautifully shaped and customer-centred products are now being created, anchored in a corporate design.

Overall, the Swabian family business was able to grow very solidly and cautiously. And increasingly evolved from a hydraulics specialist into a system manufacturer, an international provider of innovative high-pressure solutions for machine tools and an original equipment manufacturer for commercial vehicle fire protection. However, one thing has remained the same over the years - the unconditional desire and drive to increase customer efficiency with compact, high-performance solutions and products.
